To Infinity ... and Beyond!

Bedtime.  It happens every night.  And it is always challenging fun with two little boys.  There's chasing, grabbing, brushing, pulling, yelling, screaming, laughing.   The process seems to have gotten longer as the kids have gotten older.  More procrastination.  More "one more times."  But we try to make it fun.  Hence, the invention of the "PJ Monster."  Brian IS the PJ Monster.

And when the PJ monster attacks, nobody is safe.

But the kids LOOOOOVE it.  Especially when the PJ monster turns and attacks Mommy.  It is sooooo funny.

But at the end of it all ... pajamas are on and kids are smiling.  My two little Buzz Lightyears.

But Mason knows that now it's time to brush teeth and the fun is about to end for another night.

If only the "brush teeth" monster was as much fun.    :)

Spring Fever!

We had a fabulous first weekend of Spring, enjoying temperatures in the 70's.  After a long and snowy winter, nobody was more ready for Spring than the Lochhead family!  While Brian got to play golf, we spent Saturday morning with Kara, Lance, Ella and Celia Fujita at Burke Lake Park.  Here is a picture of Owen and Celia on a seal (?)

Saturday afternoon was our neighborhood Easter party.  Tons of kids turned out because the weather was so great.  It was a nice practice run for our own Easter festivities in about 2 weeks!   Here is Owen getting the egg hunt instructions, listening intently and plotting his strategy ...

Ready, Set, GO!  Owen is off ...

Look at that basket overflowing!  Owen told me that he got extra eggs to share with Mason.  Who could argue with that?  Although we did give some of our eggs to a couple of the younger kids who didn't get as many.  And Owen didn't mind one bit (that's my boy!)

Mason helped Owen go through his eggs and find all of the goodies...

And was very happy that Owen shared with him...

The kids played other games and Mason was determined to be in the thick of things.   Here he is conducting or at least he thought he was conducting a game of "Coke, Sprite, Fanta."  Yeah, we've never heard of it before either!

I think the Lochheads are really going to enjoy this Spring.

Rub a Dub Dub ...

Mason's in the tub!

We were having a lot of fun in the bath the other night making mohawks and we kind of liked the look for Mason. Can you see it in his future? Or maybe a faux hawk? I think he would rock it! Here are some adorable pics of Mason sporting his 'hawk!

Hellooo Gorgeous! We're cruising now!

Over the last week, Mason began "cruising" along the furniture. We are so happy about this, as it is another step in his progress toward walking!! Mason used to just plop back down on his butt and scoot over to the other side of the coffee table to get what he wants. But he is now using those dancing feet and is so proud of himself for doing it! The toy is a McDonald's freebee and he just loves the way it says.... "Helllooo Gorgeous!" Enjoy!

Owen's masterpiece!

Owen is always drawing and coloring on his magnadoodle. Usually he draws cars, lots and lots of cars. Sometimes he draws people, usually just their face with the arms and legs coming out of the face. But today Owen told me he was drawing something "special" and he would show it to me when it was done. He worked and worked and I was curious to see what kind of car he was drawing. But, it wasn't a car... it was a boat. And Owen was standing on the boat ... and he had a body. And the arms and legs came out of the body, not his head! And there was a sun and water and dolphins. WOW! A real landscape. Such a milestone. And I love that I thought to grab my camera to memorialize Owen's first masterpiece ...

Must Protect This House!

Since Mason has become much more mobile and Owen has become much more of an "artist" with his legos, duplos and blocks, we are seeing Owen become a little bit more protective of his creations. Here's a little story from last night.

First, Owen is so proud of his artistic creation of a Toy Story / Super Hero Castle ...

Mason (AKA Masy Monster) saw the castle and took off ...

Owen was on to Mason's tricks and blocked his path to save his castle for another day ...

But Mason is a determined little monster and has squeaked his way through ...

Better luck next time, Owen :) (Big brothers are THE best!)

Speed Racer!!

The weather finally cooperated with us and Owen got to ride his "big boy bike" for the first time today. He was so excited and ready to hit the ground racing. It only took a few turns to really get the hang of it and realize that he needed to push the pedals continuously forward to keep it moving. Below is a video of his first outing on the Spiderman bike!
